We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining a focus on quality and innovation. This role involves product design, prototype building, certification testing, and the creation of supporting documentation. Candidates with strong mechanical or electrical backgrounds will thrive in this position, as it requires a combination of technical expertise and hands-on implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Design:

    • Design new products based on proposals under the guidance of the Chief Engineer.
    • Redesign and modify existing products as directed by the Product Planning Committee, including hands-on work in the engineering lab to validate findings.
  • Prototyping and Testing:

    • Facilitate the construction and testing of prototypes to ensure design functionality and safety.
    • Ensure all engineering tests are documented and recorded according to the Engineering Lab Manual.
  • Documentation and Compliance:

    • Create and modify supporting product documentation such as installation manuals, labels, brochures, and instructions.
    • Ensure all products meet applicable construction, design, and safety standards.
    • Prepare agency submittal information for new equipment and alternate construction for existing products.
  • Electrical and Mechanical Safety:

    • Ensure electrical wiring and controls meet safety requirements and comply with industry standards.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of safety measures and PPE for handling up to 600 volts.
  • Collaboration and Redesign:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine product designs based on feedback and testing results.
    • Work hands-on in the lab to troubleshoot, test, and confirm findings during product development.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project & design engineering, with a preference for candidates with experience in electrical or gas product design and certification.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with a hands-on approach to building and testing prototypes.
  • Proficiency in using SolidWorks for creating and editing product drawings.
