Primary Purpose: Masonic Homes Kentucky hosts an on-site primary care clinic to serve the residents, employees and local community. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for the coordination of direct patient care activities and providing clinical support to providers.
Qualifications/Skills Needed:
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Two years’ experience as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist preferably in a primary care setting and providing direct patient care.
· Phlebotomy certification a plus, or a Certified MA from the National Health Career Association (NHA).
· Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, a plus.
· Knowledge of clinical work flow, medical terminology, EMR systems and insurance payers.
· Must be able to work independently and to maintain focus for long periods of time.
· Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating within databases containing highly confidential information.

· Talking: Must frequently convey details or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly or quickly.

· Repetitive Motions: Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and /or fingers. Expect to spend lots of time at a computer.
· Average Visual Abilities: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, drive.
· Physical Strength: Ability to lift and move up to 35 lbs.
