Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding and submission of claims, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is essential in facilitating the financial operations of our office and requires a strong understanding of coding systems and billing procedures.

Duties

• Review and verify patient information and medical records for accuracy before billing.
• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to ensure correct coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG systems.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies in a timely manner.
• Follow up on unpaid claims, addressing any issues or discrepancies with insurance providers.
• Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and communications.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or treatment details as needed.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing or a related role within a medical office environment.
• Strong understanding of medical records management, medical terminology, and coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficient in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
