Summary: The Medical Records Clerk is a key member of the Physician Practice ensuring patient medical records are complete. Duties include creating new medical records, retrieving existing medical records, delivering records, responding to requests for releasing medical records to other health care providers and outside third parties.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Two to Four years of relevant work experience with medical records/charts in a medical/physician’s office preferred.
Interrelationships: Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, adaptability, and tact creating a favorable image in relationship to the supported department. Must visibly demonstrate a commitment to customer relations. Requires timely, positive responses to the needs of all customers including physicians, patients, families, and co-workers.
