This position is located at our Sioux City Memorials location in Sioux City, IA. Sioux City is located on the Missouri River and is home to many great attractions such as the Sioux City Public Museum, the Sioux City Art Center, the Sergeant Floyd Monument, and Stone State Park, among others.

Position Description:

As the Memorial Consultant / Store Manager in Training, you will learn the ways of managing the sales efforts of the store with professionalism, integrity, and honesty. This position is open due to an upcoming retirement. This position starts out as a Memorial Consultant and will have the duties of Store Manager added to the role on January 1, 2025.

Essential Functions

  • Scheduling and conducting meetings with customers to assist in selecting, designing, and purchasing a meaningful memorial
  • Travel to funeral homes, cemeteries, trade shows, etc. to build relationships, fulfill orders and meet with key industry resources

Upon taking over the store:

  • Manage and direct the retail store and staff while maintaining company standards with a service driven attitude
  • Provide insight and collaborate with the Sales Manager to create strategic sales and marketing plans
  • Plan and implement store promotions as well as community events which includes presentations to civic organizations and community groups

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and internet skills for use in sales/marketing
  • Ability to design and implement sales and marketing plans
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with employees and customers at all levels of an organization

Required Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

Preferred Experience:

  • Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing or Business
  • 3-5 years of sales experience
  • An understanding of funeral home, granite or retail store operations

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Pre-employment physical and drug screen prior to hire
  • Completion of technology testing and background check
  • Ability to travel to St. Cloud, MN for training and annual sales meetings
