Position Overview:
  • In coordination with the VP of Programs and Head Start Director oversee the operations of the mental health & disabilities domain for Head Start and Early Head Start, including Kids Connect program.
  • Provide training, coaching, and clinical supervision to a team of Clinicians, including regular evaluations of staff performance. Provide support for newly hired clinical staff in receiving licensure.
  • Oversee Kids Connect program, building systems, collaborate with billing, and ensure appropriate services are occurring. Understand and comply with the Kids Connect regulations as promulgated by the Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS).
  • Coordinate with all Head Start Managers and Supervisors to ensure the coordination and implementation of mental health & disabilities services are occurring and being carried out in appropriate way identified by the Mental Health and Disabilities (MH&D) team.
  • Coordinate and communicate with CEDARR and OHHS contacts for Kids Connect, acting as the agency representative with OHHS and their liaisons/representative.
  • Understand and comply with all Head Start Program Performance Standards as they relate to MH&D.
  • Ensure the coordination and collaboration between outside agencies and Head Start Staff (i.e., School Departments, Early Intervention Programs, etc.).
  • Provide home based and center-based assessments of infants and young children as needed, track mental health and disability information on all identified children, and share information with appropriate program staff and parents.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of data collection, reporting, and analysis for all MH&D data as required by Office of Head Start (OHS).
  • Respond to and provide statistics/data for the annual PIR report.
  • Attend and participate in all relevant state and agency meetings.
  • Make constructive use of individual and peer supervision.
  • Provide leadership in ensuring that all individuals are treated respectfully and that diversity in backgrounds and life experience is supported and valued throughout the agency.
  • Contribute to the overall success and quality of the program by developing policies, protocols, and systems to improve interdepartmental collaboration and communication.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development through attending relevant workshops, conferences, and agency core trainings.
  • Provide other functions compatible with the department and agency mission, as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in social work or related field with independent licensure (LICSW).
  • 5-7- years of relevant work experience, program management, and supervision.
  • Experience in working with at-risk families, knowledge of services and support related to children with special needs, and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with school districts.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills required. Bilingual skills are compensated.
  • Must have driver’s license, automobile, and appropriate insurance levels.
  • The successful candidate will be required to meet our pre-employment background screening.
Hybrid Eligible:
