MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Valid NYS CDL Class B driver's license required. May be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment. Candidates may be expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators.
OPERATING NEEDS:
Valid NYS CDL Class B Driver's license required. Ability to operate a garbage and recycling truck, large dump truck, street sweeper, and large snow plow / salter vehicles. Ability to load, unload and carry cargo to and from the vehicle operated and / or storage point for all assigned areas for landscaping, snow removal, salting, trash/recycling, and special events required; Ability to accurately complete all vehicle, fuel logs and vehicle inspection reports required. Scheduled and non-scheduled overtime (to support campus events throughout the year) required.
Appointment will be contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment testing for controlled substance use as mandated by the Federal Highway Administration Omnibus Transportation Act of 1991 (OTETA). Employment cannot commence until notification for successful completion of this pre-employment testing is received. Please note that in addition to the initial testing required by OTETA, the Act further requires that the University conduct pre-assignment (promotion), reasonable suspicion, post-accident, random, follow-up and return to duty drug and alcohol testing throughout the period of employment.
