Help us keep critical youth programming at low/no cost! This position will add capacity to PAL’s Development team and allow us to increase the number of youth served and the quality of programming!
Nashua PAL (Police Athletic League) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching our youth the values and rewards that can be achieved through self-determination, confidence, ambition, teamwork, and respect for others. Nashua PAL, founded in 1989, has a mission to build thriving, bright, and healthy futures for youth by connecting kids, police officers, and community while creating opportunities for education, activity, and leadership. We are not funded by the police but work in collaboration with Nashua Police to support our mission of connecting kids with police through positive interactions. Youth get to know a police officer, work with him/her in the community, and quickly learn the positive impact they can make when working together. Nashua PAL serves over 2,000 youth in Southern New Hampshire within our 16 educational and engaging programs including the PAL Youth Safe Haven, PAL Force Football & Spirit, PAL Cross Country, the PAL Boxing Gym, and many more. PAL’s high-level programming includes the state’s first and Nashua’s only USA Boxing sanctioned boxing program; NH’s largest elementary Cross Country running program (a PAL team in every Nashua elementary school); and the PAL Youth Safe Haven, located in the heart of Nashua’s downtown, providing quality care to youth in Nashua at no cost. Regardless of the PAL Program, children and families are the focus of Nashua PAL. We serve a growing population of youth within the city of Nashua, never letting income or ability stop participation.
One of Nashua PAL’s core programs is the Nashua PAL Youth Safe Haven which provides free year-round afterschool and summer programming to 250+ historically disadvantaged youth annually. The PAL Youth Safe Haven is centered in the heart of Nashua’s “Tree Streets” – the Tree Streets make up less than 1 sq. mile of the city’s footprint, but host 19% of all city crimes. While the median income for Nashua is $73,022, median income in the Tree Streets is $21,585. Youth Safe Haven membership reports show 97% of all families live far below Federal Poverty Levels. This position will include enhancing marketing and development activities for the organization will lead to direct support for youth and families in need by Documenting Nashua PAL youth activities, Support Grant Writing and Research, and Enhancing Donor Communications and Fundraising Events.
