Job Title – NauticusGift Shop Retail Operations Specialist

Job Summary

Responsible for a variety of tasks related to selling, inventory maintenance, ordering of supplies, and improving customer experiences by ensuring operational retail efficiencies across the Nauticus campus. The Retail Operations Specialist is the lead custodian for the cash vault and cash handling procedures. Provides exceptional customer service and assists part-time staff with customer conflict resolution and inquiry.

This is a full-time position with weekend and holiday requirements.

Reports to the Store Manager.

Essential functions

· Assure smooth and efficient daily retail operations with coordination of Assistant Store Manager

· Manage inventory stock including accuracy with receiving, tagging, and stocking in a timely manner; includes constant monitoring of inventory discrepancies.

· Orders all necessary office supplies with assistance of Store Manager; assures all master forms are supplied.

· Assist with accounts payable by preparing payment vouchers including assistance with timely payment processing.

· Along with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, serve as a primary customer service representative; Greets and engages guests to provide information about our products and services; offers problem solving solutions for both conflicts and improvements for a successful retail operation.

· Committed to improving customer service experiences and able to ensure operational efficiencies.

· Perform store opening and closing functions including central cash operations for tills and vault.

· Lead for preparation and execution of Annual Inventory

· Assist with potential sales opportunities on campus.

· Lead for online shop and order fulfillments.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

· Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures

· Working knowledge of cash management

· Working knowledge of computer functions and cash register / credit card terminal

· Inventory control & merchandising.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

· Highly organized with constant maintenance of storage areas due to constant inventory turnover

· Works as part of a diverse sales team and with diverse audiences and age groups

· Works well in fast paced environment under time constraints

· Strong communication skills to receive customer concerns and answer in a calm and effective manner.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

· Moderate physical activity. Requires handling up to 30 lbs. Able to stand and/or walk for more than six hours per day.

· May require work in tight spaces and use of ladders to obtain merchandise or access to work locations.

· Primarily weekday requirements with rotating weekend shifts, and potential nights and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS

· Prior experience in retail customer service and operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
