Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Network Administrator responsibilities include designing, configuring, analyzing, monitoring, installing, administering, maintaining, and troubleshooting network systems. Provides analytical support and reports for various projects and departments as needed. Participates in capacity planning, supports the creation and the maintenance of network disaster recovery plans and monitors network performance activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages and supports the design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of CHCS’ LAN/WAN environment.
  • Responds to real-time performance alerts to resolve performance problems, performs regular on-going review and analysis of performance data to identify current performance problems and proactively detects potential future performance problems.
  • Produces documented procedures for business continuity and/or recovery alternatives in the event of failure; works with vendor representatives to resolve known problems.
  • Reviews requests from various departments determining the best-suited solution and schedules installations.
  • Perform IP Management by creating DHCP Scopes and IP reservations on a Windows-based DHCP server.
  • Provides technical support for network issues or requests that pertain to network components.
  • Manages security of network equipment by ensuring the latest firmware updates and implementing current methods of software and hardware security.
  • Provides administration and other assigned tasks on the following network systems: Cisco, Extreme Networks, Palo Alto and other network platforms.
  • Independently performs complex troubleshooting, root cause analysis, solution development and implementation.
  • Design, manage and maintain a Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Manages security of network equipment by ensuring the latest firmware updates and implementing current methods of software and hardware security.
  • Trains and assists end users as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with network switches, routers, LAN, WAN topologies.
  • CompTIA Net+ Certification

Licenses or Certifications
  • CompTIA Net+ Certification


Other Requirements
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business.
  • Must maintain required credentials and mandatory training requirements to ensure compliance with all State regulations and CHCS policies.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage, be able to travel as needed, and be able to meet on a consistent basis the driving record requirements of the Company’s auto insurance carrier if you drive your vehicle during company business.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements to complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) and CPR training including lifting up to 12 lbs. and supporting up to 55 lbs.; bending, stooping and getting on and off the floor without assistance.
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) is a proven safe and harm-free method of behavior modification. All consumer-facing employees of CHCS must take NCI courses facilitated by the CHCS Training team within the first 45 days of employment.
  • NCI is intended to support human service professionals in giving aggressive, disruptive, or out-of-control people the best care and welfare possible, even in the most violent situation.
  • NCI training provides staff with the skills to safely recognize and respond to everyday crisis situations that may involve more challenging behaviors. It focuses on prevention and offers proven strategies for safely defusing anxious, hostile or violent behavior at the earliest possible stage.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate certification
