By joining our Division of Equipment, Communications Section as a Network Anaylst III, you’ll have the opportunity to perform multi-site network communications service requirements to include implementation, operation, repair, and preventive maintenance of network communications equipment.
Holders of this Job Title will complete tasks such as:
- Install, repair, inspect, and maintain two-way communication radios, peripherals, and related electronic communications equipment.
- Work within a network and use various software to program, test, and configure communications equipment.
- Use PCs and online resources to maintain records of attendance, evaluations, status, inventory, order parts, and submit reports.
- Work as a safety liason for division.
Holders of this job will obtain the following skills:
- Work with test equipment in order to troubleshoot and analyze network equipment.
- Tune duplexers, antenna, and RF propagation studies.
- Work with various communications software and equipment to improve the network.
- Installation of communications in a wide variety of vehicle make and models.
Desired candidates possess the following requisite skills or experience applicable to the position:
- Electrical and electronics training, education degree, or equivalent time experience in troubleshooting and repair of communications equipment.
- Experience in two-way communications principles.
- Training and knowledge of computers, programs, network principles, and applications.
- Training personnel and/or public speaking skills.
- On-call 24/7. Possible overnight stays. Statewide travel.
- May risk exposure to electrical shock and/or RF radiation.
- Bending, stooping, kneeling, and uncomfortable positions to install equipment into vehicles.
- Position will work in and responsible for central Kentucky counties between Elizabethtown and Bowling Green.
- Work in a safety position for the division.
