Location: Piscataway, New Jersey, United States


Responsibilities:


Operational Role


  • Drives improvement in team performance through effective communications to all levels of the Operation team and individual stakeholders.

  • Is responsible for plant processes, asset utilization and operational efficiency.

  • Leads continuous improvement for plant processes working with Plant Engineers on asset utilization, and operation efficiency.

  • Furthers and develops positive relationships with the Engineering, EHS, and Quality Systems department.

  • Drives Continuous Improvement initiatives in EHS, Quality, and Factory Performance and Reliability to enhance business performance.

  • Oversight of the weekly/daily/monthly schedules for the Pilot Plant.

  • Supervises plant operational dashboard and KPIs and shares regular communication with Plant Manager and other stakeholders.

  • Lead and coordinate manufacturing needs to ensure that the plant is adhering to production schedules to meet the needs of the R&D team.

  • Supports the Quality initiatives that will support efficient process implementation of new product start-up; timely completions of bi-annual Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) review with teams; and Quality audit preparation initiatives.

  • Support the implementation of the standards of Factory Performance & Reliability (FP&R) within the teams, with focused emphasis in regards to People Capability, Visual Workplace, Autonomous Maintenance, Planned Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Production Planning and Standard Daily Meeting.

  • Review demand to develop a production schedule to meet customer demands where appropriate; Preventive Maintenance, logistics, and capacity constraints and Operations/Making parameters.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with key customers, internal teams, cross functional teams, and vendors to deliver continuous improvement for the PTC.

  • Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams to drive higher levels of performance, sustainability, and cost effectiveness.


Materials Management Role


  • Create and maintain all the master data like material masters, production planning Bill of Materials, Rate Routing and Production Orders.

  • Handle inventory of finished goods, and ordering raw and packaging materials to support the effective operations.

  • Run the inventory accuracy of all raw and packaging materials.

  • Define for each material accurate MRP data such as Safety Stock, re-order quantity, expiration dates, slow moving and obsolete materials in order to improve efficiencies and minimize cost and waste, while increasing the levels of service and quality.

  • Management of PTC Materials delivery/returns to ensure there is no impact on production.

  • Handle the 3rd party providers.

  • Support plant initiatives through involvement in activities/functions outside of Materials Planning.

  • Develop and train personnel on the technical and correct usage of SAP transactions and material consumptions/inventory management.


Required qualifications:


  • BS Degree in engineering, technical, business, logistics, or relevant work experience.

  • 2-3 yrs experience in engineering with production management experience.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

  • Manufacturing/plant experience and/or experience in other GSC functions.


Preferred qualifications:


  • Familiarity with Company practices related to EHS, Quality and Microbiology, and plant financials.

  • Understanding of Capital Management System or something similar.


Key Stakeholders:

  • Internal: With R&D, Division and Subsidiary business and Supply Chain management, Global Product Supply Engineering, Facilities, Global Packaging, Quality and EHS.

  • External: Outside consultants and suppliers to ensure the business and technical objectives.


Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $72,400.00 - $101,500.00 USD

Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
