Job Announcement & Position Description

Job Title: Operations Manager for NACVSO

Reporting to the NACVSO Executive Board of Directors (E-Board), the Operations Manager will have overall administrative responsibility for NACVSO’s programs and execution of its mission. The responsibilities of this position range from board member engagement, membership communication and day-to-day management of operations. This position supports individual members and committees of the E-Board in their efforts to chart NACVSO’s future growth for the organization’s programs and services.

Location: Washington, DC with option to work remotely 2-3 days per week; up to 15% of time will include travel in the US

Status: Full-Time

Overtime Status: Exempt

Salary: $50,000 - $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience

· Provide day-to-day management and oversight of NACVSO’s programs and operations, ensuring the timely and effective delivery of tasks related to finance, administration, fundraising, communications, and systems

· Monitor timelines and resources needed to achieve NACVSO’s strategic goals.

· Provide administrative and operations support to the E-Board, serve as ex-officio member of each Board committee; collect reports from committee chairs and prepare agendas for monthly Board meetings

· Maintain and enhance NACVSO’s membership database to ensure members remain current on dues payments and in compliance with ongoing accreditation requirements

· Serve as the main point of contact for all member inquiries

· Disseminate relevant information and updates received from the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and other NACVSO partner organizations to members

· Assist the NACVSO’s Education Committee with the planning and management of a broad range of in-person and virtual training and education offerings

· Deliver practices for sound fiscal management of the organization in order to control costs and maintain transparency

· Ensure effective planning, project management, and delivery of the NACVSO annual meeting and conference

· Plan, organize, and support the delivery of the annual NACVSO Leadership Summit

· Maintain and support all Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with partner Veteran Service Organizations

Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelors degree from an accredited university

· Minimum of 3 years administrative, project or operations management experience; experience working in the non-profit industry and/or with military or veterans organization a plus

· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage complex projects and prioritize tasks with competing deadlines

· Ability to establish and sustain professional working relationships and comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and cultures

· Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

· Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills

· Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people

· Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed

· Prior experience working with administrative, human resources, and financial management software programs and applications (e.g., QuickBooks, ADP payroll, etc.)

· High level of proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Ability to travel up to 15% of the time to attend engagements and conferences across the US
