Available Locations: Reston VA, and Austin TX. Candidate must live or relocate within 45 minutes of available location.

Lead an operations team that will install code, monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all production cloud technologies including both hardware and software for US Government Operations (US Gov Ops). Manages and controls activities in multi-functional areas of sections. Ensures appropriate operational planning is effectively driven to meet corporate specifications. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Good interpersonal skills, analytical skills, detailed understanding of cloud technologies and software development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

This role will lead (T1/T2) Point Operations (PO) personnel, collaborate with the Sr. Manager, US Gov Ops. Also manage hiring and training, performance review of all Level 1 (T1/T2) PO operations personnel and provide delivery of all Level 1 (T1/T2) PO operations capabilities on a 24x7x365 basis.

Lead team responsible for the operation of production environments, including systems and databases, supporting critical business operations. Will perform administration and analysis for multiple production environments and recommend new and novel solutions to improve availability, performance, and supportability. This is an opportunity to bring a combination of technical knowledge with administration/analysis knowledge of Oracle's Cloud Infrastructure to provide critical issue support to a variety of complex production environment problems related to immense growth, scaling, leverage, and extremely high performance, and high availability requirements.

Provide technical support for complex technical issues which may include leading problem management cases and providing management status. Coordinate escalated support cases and lead appropriate internal technical resources and/or third-party vendors to resolution on OCI FedRAMP, DISA, and other unclassified US Government Realms. Responsible for Oracle production environments; assist with server operating system and application upgrades, bug fixes, and patching; and work on standardization projects for both hardware and software under the Oracle technology stack while providing consistent system uptime as expected in a Cloud environment. Provide on-call support, on a rotating basis with management team. Travel may be required in accordance with business needs.

Overall Responsibilities:

  • Lead team that operates and performs maintenance to services running within the region through the use of Runbooks.
  • Ensures timely resolution and documentation of incidents through bridges.
  • Ensures detailed documentation of incidents through company-standard reporting methods.
  • Helps team as manager to monitor the region for faults, alarms, and other errors. Advises internal teams as required through process and procedure.
  • Act as lead/mentor for other service operators.
  • Act as a point of escalation for incidents and other issues arising within the region.
  • Operates and performs maintenance to services running within the region.
  • Troubleshoots operational issues on behalf of service teams.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Linux.
  • Experience deploying code within change management procedures.
  • Experience participating in or running incident bridges.
  • Customer focus with a passion for delighting customers.
  • Experience in cloud technical support, operations, NOC, or similar environments preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with government customers is preferred, but not required.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technical domains and then train others.
  • Experience in Technical Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment; supporting and troubleshooting distributed applications, software, and operating systems; and administering and troubleshooting issues with messaging middleware and message brokers.
  • Experience with enterprise administrative scripting using a major scripting language and experience with software deployment.
  • Knowledge of network architecture and protocols.
