The Kansas Land Trust (KLT) seeks an Outreach Coordinator to support the organization’s goals of increasing capacity and protecting more lands in Kansas. This position works closely with the Engagement Committee and the Executive Director to coordinate and execute against the annual outreach plan, manage events, and maintain regular and consistent KLT communications. The ideal person for this role will be emotionally intelligent, possess excellent communication skills, and have an uncompromising attention to detail. As a small non-profit, KLT’s donor and landowner relations are key to our success. All KLT staff are expected to work together to foster engagement and develop a culture of appreciation to increase land protection across the state.

The Outreach Coordinator role requires a high degree of autonomy, as well as the ability to work in close collaboration with KLT’s staff, community members, and contractors to accomplish the following responsibilities:
Communications. Execute against a strategic marketing and communications plan. Manage social media accounts and the KLT website with frequent updates regarding news and upcoming events. Create and distribute monthly email newsletters and regular print messaging. Coordinate with partners and guests to create mission-related content. Support the Executive Director with online and print fundraising campaigns.
Volunteer and Database Management. Collaborate with the Executive Director and Conservation Coordinator to maintain databases that track volunteers, event registration, event attendance, and donor engagement. Coordinate volunteers and volunteer training.
Brand Management. Work with contract graphic designers to maintain a consistent and cohesive brand for the organization. Work with the Executive Director to produce outreach materials including the Annual Report as well as outreach information for donors and landowners. Create and place orders for KLT merchandise as needed.
Public Programs and Events. Lead the organization and promotion of regularly scheduled mission-aligned public events including hikes and volunteer workdays. Create and distribute outreach toolkits to support events. Work with the Engagement Committee to organize and execute KLT fundraising events and associated campaigns.
Committees & Board. Function as staff liaison at monthly meetings of the Engagement Committee. Take minutes at each meeting and distribute them to all committee members. Work with the Engagement Committee to create engagement goals, mission-aligned messaging arcs, public campaigns, and events that engage new audiences. Regularly share metrics related to engagement with the Engagement Committee and the Board of Directors. Attend Board of Directors meetings; record and distribute minutes to board members.
Other. As a representative of Kansas Land Trust, attend affiliated organizations' events. This may include travel throughout Kansas and occasionalattendance at evening and weekend events. File management and diligent record keeping.Occasional administrative support.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIREMENTS
KLT promotes a flexible work schedule and prioritizes life-work balance. Full-time, regular employees maintain a 36-hour work week, flexible work schedule, and remote work setting. However, all staff must live in the state of Kansas. A work-from-home stipend and mileage reimbursement are provided. Although much of our work is accomplished in our home/remote offices, we convene in person frequently for team building, meetings, events, and programs. The Coordinator will be expected to participate in these in-person gatherings as able. The Coordinator should have a reliable vehicle and the ability to travel across the state of Kansas. Mileage is reimbursed at the federal rate.
COMPENSATION
The Outreach Coordinator is a full-time, salaried position with an annualized salary of $45,000, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will support KLT to increase capacity, with compensation appropriately reflecting growth trends over time.
