Pay and Shift

The hourly rate for this position is $20.50 + 5% shift differential. The 3rd shift hours are 11:30pm - 8:00am.

What You’ll Work On

The Palletizer Operator is responsible for operating the finished goods palletizer and the equipment associated with it. The Material Control department is responsible for the total material function the Sturgis Plant including planning and procurement, receiving, storage of all inbound items and their movement through the plant, production line support, production scheduling, palletization, finished product storage, distribution, MRO/stockroom procurement, and computerized documentation of the below activities.

  • Control of quality and simple machine adjustments where applicable
  • Clean the palletizer and associated equipment including conveyor lines and overhead nets throughout the warehouse.
  • Provide accurate accounting of finished product processed through the palletizer
  • Accurately input batch information into Cambar, affix tags to designated pallets of manufactured goods, and maintain inventory count records.
  • Enter the batch count into the Cambar system assuring accuracy for product traceability and audits
  • Responsible for performing GMP -Pull Case conveyor Daily Area Checklist
  • Responsible for putting away palletized product in the warehouse.
  • Operate the finished goods palletizer, the slip sheet dispenser, the pallet loader and the stretch wrapper and performs minor adjustments to the equipment.
  • Required to be able to set-up and load the associated equipment.
  • Accurately input batch information into Cambar, affix tags to designated pallets of manufactured goods, and maintain inventory count records.
  • Enter the batch count into the Cambar system assuring accuracy for product traceability and audits.
  • Verify batch quantity between Cambar System and computerized warehouse systems – troubleshoot any discrepancy.
  • Run queries, verify counts and RECO problems.
  • Operate forklift truck in performance of duties.
  • Obtaining a forklift license and complete daily equipment inspection.
  • Comply with all pertinent GMP and SMP requirements.

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Self-motivated and possess the ability to perform with minimum supervision
  • Adept at dealing with people under high pressure and in a constantly changing environment
  • Forklift operation including high stacking of finished product
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions
  • Ability to read, write, and follow simple written directions
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide decimals and fractions
  • Ability to read gauges and instruments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical college computer operations courses
  • Mechanically adept with a good mathematical background
  • Palletizer operation experience including conveyors, slip-sheet dispensers, and pallet dispensers.
  • Stretch wrapper operation experience
  • Mainframe navigation and data entry in AMAPS

The base pay for this position is $16.55 – $33.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
