COMMUNITY PROFILE

Sun City Anthem (SCA) is a Del Webb developed community located in Henderson, Nevada, the second largest city in Nevada, with a population of 330,000 residents. Developed in 1998, SCA is the state’s second largest Common Interest Community, and the City of Henderson is the second largest city in the state with 300,000 residents. The beautiful and expansive 55+ active adult community covers 3,500 acres with 7,144 homes. SCA is home to approximately 12,500 total residents.

The community is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors who typically serve two-year terms. SCA Amenities and facilities include three clubhouses with 130,000 square feet of recreational space including three indoor swimming pools, two outdoor pools, tennis courts, pickle ball, bocce, a 300-seat performing arts theatre, fitness centers, group exercise rooms, privately owned and operated day spa, and a grand ballroom.

SCA has nearly sixty chartered clubs and operates its own television station. SCA maintains a Community Patrol, a Community Service Group, a Neighborhood Watch Program, and an Emergency Preparedness Service Group.

POSITION SUMMARY

This is a part-time position not to exceed approximately nineteen (19) regularly scheduled hours per week. This position is the face of Sun City Anthem (SCA) Community Association and makes the first impression for all members and guests of the facilities. The incumbent will be a resource for information in and out of the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: General duties ensuring that all support and service is conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of SCA. Monitors are actively stationed at the Anthem Fitness Center, Pool Areas, Independence Center Front Desk, and Liberty Center Front Desk and Pool Areas. The position requires a flexible working schedule that may vary depending on business needs. SCA operates from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. seven days per week (subject to change). Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, scanning member activity cards, and logging their guests as they come into the facilities, answering phones, and directing guests accordingly to and from SCA facilities, and professionally reminding members of SCA rules and regulations.


SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS


  • Skilled in maintaining an efficient, empathetic, professional, and positive demeanor while interacting with members in potentially sensitive situations.
  • Ability to remain calm and level-headed in emergency situations.
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Communication may be with any of the following: homeowners, relatives and/or friends of homeowners, tenants of homeowners, general public, SCA staff, SCA Managers, SCA Board of Directors, local media, contractors, and law enforcement personnel.
  • Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communication may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities.
  • Must have basic working knowledge of computer and other office equipment, i.e., fax, multi-line phone system, walkie-talkie, and scanner/copier.
  • Ability to walk indoors, outdoors, up, and downstairs without assistance for periods of time that could vary.
  • Ability to stand to greet members and guests for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented and have good reasoning skills.
  • Skill in the use of a variety of computer software programs. At a minimum, must be skilled in the use of Word for Windows, internet search functions, and e-mail.
  • Basic math skills


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Essential responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Ability to adapt to changing rules and regulations.
  • Arrive on time for assigned shifts and complete smooth transition of shift changes.
  • Ability and flexibility to work any shifts in any center according to business demands and needs.
  • Maintain CPR/AED certification and be physically and mentally prepared to quickly respond to emergency situations throughout the facility.
  • Actively oversee and monitor activities at fitness check-in desks, indoor/outdoor aquatic areas, cardio and fitness rooms, group exercise rooms, indoor track, and locker rooms
  • Check in all members and guests; verify that all proper waivers are on file.
  • Sell beverages, class passes, guest passes, and other retail items as needed.
  • Utilize Point of Sale (POS) system with skill and proficiency and have ability to make change and balance cash drawer at the end of each working shift.
  • Distribute recreational equipment and/or keys per approved policies as applicable.
  • Adjust music, and/or television, equipment, fans, lights, and shades as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked, and well-organized work area, locker rooms, beverage station/refrigerators.
  • Assist with keeping all fitness areas neat and tidy. Perform minor custodial duties to include but not limited to picking up discarded items, replenishing supplies, wiping down equipment, etc.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all requests by members ensuring member satisfaction.
  • Report all safety concerns to the Lead Monitor and/or Fitness -Management Team after a thorough inspection of the concern.
  • Maintain professional demeanor at all times, ensuring top-notch internal and external customer service, refraining from any negative or derogatory comments regarding fellow employees, members, or guests.
  • Work without constant direct supervision, using practicality while remaining flexible to both stay at assigned post for extended periods of time and actively walk the center, as necessary.
  • Assist management with any other tasks or projects as requested.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have manual dexterity required for use of typing, writing, answering phones and other basic center operations.
  • Ability to utilize necessary equipment such as computer, telephone, POS system, copier, printer, scanner, and fax.
  • Ability to walk inside, outside, up, and downstairs without assistance.
  • Ability to remain in stationary position for varied lengths of time.
  • Agility and physical capability to quickly respond to emergency situations throughout the facility.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, push, pull, lift, carry and move objects that can weigh up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to exchange and receive information through oral communications and to make discriminations in sound.
  • Ability to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing with or without corrective lenses.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is mostly performed indoors, with periodic checks of outdoor areas required for each shift. Possible short-term exposure to direct sunlight and high temperatures can occur during summer months.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in customer-facing role
  • Experience and skill in the use of computer software
  • Experience and skill in professionally dealing with people during difficult situations.
