Department Information


This position is part of the IU Global Marketing and Communications team within the of the Office of the Vice President for Communications and Marketing and supports all units within Office of the Vice President for International Affairs (OVPIA) and the Office of International Affairs (OIA).

Job Summary


The student graphic designer position is a part-time role responsible for developing a variety of designs for digital, print, and swag needs for all units within IU Global.

Department-Specific Responsibilities

  • Plays a key creative role on the team, working within brand guidelines to design marketing collateral for various channels.
  • Reports to the Marketing Strategist.
  • Develops, produces, and manages design deliverables on the IU Global team.
  • Works collaboratively with team members to support overall print and digital design needs for the IU Global team.
  • Designs basic and complex communication, marketing, and web materials by established deadlines for a variety of audiences and for distributions across print and digital platforms.
  • Independently applies brand guidelines and design principles.
  • Provides feedback and guidance on other designs produced by the team.
  • Works with vendors on units' behalf to order printed materials and imprint items.
  • Reports on progress and provides regular updates to upper management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

  • Graphic design experience.

Preferred

  • Experience with Graphic Design using Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Proficient communication skills.

Working Conditions / Demands


This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Work Location


Bloomington, Indiana or Indianapolis, Indiana.

Advertised Salary


$16 - $20 per hour dependent upon qualifications.

Work Hours


10-15 hours per week
