The Parts Warehouse & Counter Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory records, efficiently processing orders, and ensuring the overall organization and functionality of the warehouse. In addition, this role will at times assist with ensuring our customers needs are met including ordering parts, answering customer questions, and identifying parts needed. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and a commitment to providing quality service to our customers.


SCHEDULE: The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. However, it's important to be aware that, as an hourly employee, there may be instances when you will be required to work beyond these hours to fulfill the job requirements, leading to overtime pay.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Satisfactorily performing and/or achieving the following Responsibilities are essential duties of the job. Job duties are dispersed by supervisor.

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all Bergmann products and actively engage in training programs. Notify management of any additional training needs as necessary.
  • Pick orders from stock and ship or deliver them to customers and shop will-call locations as required. Ensure that will-call areas are clean, organized, and orders picked up are marked as complete. Monitor the parts will-call areas and notify customers once their orders are complete for pickup or delivery. Follow up with customers regarding the status of their orders, providing updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Perform various warehousing functions, including receiving stock, handling freight shipments, and replenishing shelves with inventory. Ensure timely receipt of parts, update bin location information accurately at the time of receipt, and maintain the accuracy of inventory records. Periodically perform warehouse bin location maintenance to optimize storage efficiency. Check in freight shipments and verify that delivered items match the manifest. Notify supervisor of any issues requiring order discrepancy resolution.
  • Process orders that require shipping in a timely manner, ensuring prompt and accurate shipments. Create Bills of Lading (BOLs) and schedule freight pickups for outgoing parts and attachments. Ensure that all outbound shipments have correct account coding.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts as directed by management and assist with year-end parts inventory counts. File and maintain signed customer order documents, purchase orders, and invoices for accurate record-keeping.
  • Store all packaging materials neatly and orderly. Prepare and schedule returns as needed. Handle external and internal parts returns promptly and in accordance with established procedures.
  • Conduct daily forklift safety inspections and promptly report any issues or maintenance requirements to management. Maintain a presentable, clean, and organized work area in compliance with 5S standards.
  • Assist customers by providing price quotes, accepting parts orders, and processing them efficiently through various communication channels, including phone, email, or in-person interactions. Acknowledge customers promptly and help them determine the best solutions for their needs, demonstrating superior customer relations skills and interdepartmental cooperation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to enhance their experience and loyalty.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES/PROFICIENCIES – Satisfactorily achieving and/or meeting the following Experience, Competencies, and Proficiencies that are essential duties of the job:

· Experience and/or Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in warehousing is a plus.

· Computer Skills: The employee must be proficient with computers and software required to accomplish the responsibilities of this position. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Products such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Previous experience in warehouse operations or parts handling is preferred.

· Forklift operation certification is a plus.

· Attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory and documentation.

· Strong written and oral communication.

· Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to conduct equipment inspections.

· Proficiency in using inventory management systems and software.

· Strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

· Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

· Proven ability to complete work with energy and enthusiasm.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS – Being able to meet the Physical Demands of the job is an essential duty of the job.

· While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

· The position requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods.

· Ability to operate office equipment such as computers, keyboards, and telephones.

· Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as typing, filing, and handling paperwork.

· Visual acuity and ability to read and interpret documents.

· The position requires the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
