Patient Care Coordinator

General Description:

Under the direct supervision of Office Manager

Primary Job Function:

• Work with multiple providers to ensure proper patient flow and practice efficiency.
• Cover the checkout area-Front desk can also assist with quick check-out if the patient coordinator is with a functional medicine patient or is otherwise engaged.
• Review supplements/ test kits/answer any questions for functional medicine patients when checking out.
• Coordinate follow-up appointments, labs or any other services that are part of the treatment plan for functional medicine patients.
• Patient calls/emails regarding treatment plan, Rx refills, test kits instructions etc. directed to patient coordinator. This creates a buffer for the nurses and practitioners. More complex issues/questions may be escalated to the nurse.
• Create the best possible first impressions to our patients and potential patients both in person and on the phone.
• Administrative work including but not limited to answering phones, scheduling, answering billing and service-related questions, collecting payment for services and/or products, and other duties assigned by providers or managers.
• Update patient chart notes and files in EMR as needed.
• The capacity to learn and administer both attended and unattended therapies.
• Exhibits use of therapeutic communication, exceptional customer service, professionalism, timeliness, efficiency, and teamwork in all aspects of work.
• Attending regularly scheduled staff meetings and learning sessions.
• Actively participate in quality improvement processes while being open to the ongoing changes and make suggestions for improvements.
• Keep all protected health information (PHI) confidential and abide by HIPAA guidelines for the release and disclosure of any PHI.

Required Skills:

• Experience in Sales, customer service administration or medical office preferred.
• Must be a team player – teamwork makes the dream work, sense of humor a plus.
• 1 year of experience working within an integrative medicine clinic preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
• Document management and excellent organizational skills.
• Must be detail oriented and be able to multi-task effectively.
• Previous experience with an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system and working in an EHR environment.

This is a MTWRF full time time position at our Peachtree Corners location, 5270 Peachtree Parkway, Suite 107 Norcross, GA 30092. Our clinic is busy and rapidly growing serving our patients with the most forward-thinking medical approach--functional medicine. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
