Overview

We are seeking individuals to join the Polysomnographic team as Sleep Lab Trainees. In this role individuals will be introduced to sleep medicine through a 90-day in-house training course. Following the classroom learning, you will be provided with on-the-job training as this role gains proficiency in and performs the basics of Polysomnographic (Sleep Medicine) testing and associated intervention while under the direct supervision of a Polysomnographic Technician or Technologist.

The Polysomnographic Department at IU Health offers our team members opportunities to develop and grow their skills and scope of practice in Polysomnographic testing.   • High school diploma or GED plus 6 months of direct patient care experience or 1 year of related post-secondary education or current enrollment in an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography.
  • Orientation check-offs completed within 90 days of hire.
  • Competencies completed within 90 days of hire.
  • AASM Modules completed within 180 days of hire.
  • Attendance at monthly CEU presentations.
  • Pass the board exam and become a credentialed polysomnographic technician (RPSGT) through the BRPT within 3 years of hire.
  • Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
