We're seeking an experienced candidate with a minimum of 1 year in surgery scheduling. The ideal candidate should have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate scheduling among physicians, healthcare facilities, DME providers, and vendors.

Responsibilities:

Must Be able to to

  • Process and track all pre-operative orders, including labs, imaging, and other diagnostic tests.
  • Ensure all necessary orders are completed and results are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Obtain medical clearances from primary care physicians and specialists as required.
  • Follow up with patients and healthcare providers to ensure all clearances are completed and documented.
  • Assist the surgery scheduling team with booking procedures and confirming appointments.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, Physician Assistants, and other medical staff to ensure availability and proper scheduling.
  • Inform patients about pre-operative requirements and instructions.
  • Provide patients with information about their scheduled procedures, including date, time, and location.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation related to surgical scheduling and pre-operative clearances.
  • Ensure all relevant information is entered into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Work closely with the surgery scheduling team, nursing staff, and administrative personnel to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
  • Attend department meetings and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to all regulatory requirements and guidelines related to surgical scheduling and patient care.
  • Ensure all pre-operative orders and clearances meet the standards set by the healthcare facility and regulatory bodies.
  • Schedule surgical procedures and coordinate appointments for patients in collaboration with medical professionals and hospital staff.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to provide pre-operative instructions, address inquiries, and ensure a smooth scheduling process.
  • Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations for surgical procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff to optimize surgical schedules and resource utilization.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of surgery schedules, patient information, and relevant documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards related to scheduling and patient information.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Surgery Scheduler in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in using scheduling software and electronic health record systems.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional education or certification in medical administration is a plus.
