Job Description

We have two Inclusion Specialist position openings at one of our partnering preschools for the 2024-2025 school year beginning July/August 2024. Please take the time to read the job description and requirements below before applying to this position.

This part-time position, typically M-F from 8:30am-1:30pm, requires a Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred) in a related field (Special Education, Early Childhood etc), as well as 3+ years of "hands on" teaching experience with young children with unique and varying learning needs (must have Autism experience).

We currently have two 5 day positions available serving students of varying needs/diagnoses at First Presbyterian Preschool at 1328 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta in midtown next to the High Museum.

An Inclusion Specialist is responsible for providing inclusion-based services within the classroom for pre-school aged children at our partnering preschools and organizations. As an Inclusion Specialist, once matched with a student and family, you attend and work inside one classroom as a partnering member of the teaching team for the duration of the natural school year. We are not an independent center, we partner with preschools across the Atlanta area. The children we serve may have Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, Down Syndrome, developmental delays, Cerebral Palsy, processing disorders, sensory integration disorders and/or other challenges, indicators or diagnoses. We provide natural preschool inclusion services utilizing best practices and an empathetic, individualized approach. We pride ourselves in meeting our students where they are in the moment and celebrating their differences to others.

Job responsibilities include: creating a Therapy Education Plan with individualized daily goals and objectives, daily data collection and notes of progression, conducting a curriculum based assessment, collaborating with teachers, therapists, parents/caregivers and ALC admin, facilitating independent and active participation of the identified student throughout the school day, modifying/adapting classroom materials and activities, supporting partnering teachers by providing effective learning strategies/materials, assisting parents in adapting strategies across environments, assist in families in transitioning from ALC services and participate in professional development opportunities.
