Position Overview

The Principal Trainer possesses competencies in sound knowledge of how technology is situated within the workflows of the lab organization and mastery of educational theory, design, implementation, and evaluation. This role is responsible for building, testing, and maintaining the training environments for systems used by the lab organization as well as managing updates to policy and procedure documentation related to training and system upgrades. This role will develop and support training materials for applications utilized at Exact Sciences Laboratories as well evaluating program effectiveness. The Principal Trainer acts as a content expert for creating and providing training for the system and workflow application. This role will conduct train-the-trainer sessions for new staff, provide refresher training as needed, and coordinate and implement training for software upgrades and the implementation of new tests.

Essential Duties

include but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform all assigned job duties following laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the technical curriculum design for production and training software environments.
  • Maintain training and quality assurance environments for software systems.
  • Conduct training software needs assessment.
  • Design software training and audit existing content on an ongoing basis to ensure software courses are current, effective, and meet business needs.
  • Deliver classroom training and/or train-the-trainer support for new workflows and systems.
  • Apply technical expertise to individual client system build to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
  • Track and document risks and issues.
  • Analyze and document workflows.
  • Work closely with project leadership; including, but not limited to, documentation and facilitation.
  • Work directly with system end users by monitoring workflows and providing documentation and optimization suggestions.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot problems.

  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Business Administration, Education, or field related to the essential duties of the job; or High School Diploma/General Education Degree and 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of Associates degree.
  • 6+ years of professional experience related to the essential duties of the position.
  • Strong understanding of IT, software/systems, customer service, billing, insurance, or data entry in a healthcare related field.
  • Advanced understanding of virtual, instructor-led, or webinar-based training.
  • Demonstrated ability to design ad-hoc training solutions in response to business needs/changes leading all parts of the process to include training intake, development, communication, change management, and delivery.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year experience mentoring or directly/indirectly leading others.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using Epic, Five9, OnBase, Calabrio, LIS, and other similar software. Experience in adult education, instructional design, education theory, and/or training in the healthcare or call center industry.
  • Experience in developing educational materials related to business and/or clinical workflows related to healthcare.
  • Ability to credential/certify on systems, such as Epic, LIS, OnBase, etc.
  • End user or project experience with training environment build.
  • End user training experience in Epic or other clinical/business operations information system.
  • Knowledge of current healthcare environment.

Salary Range:

$67,000.00 - $109,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
