Title: Procurement Speacialist
Location: Green River, WY
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for sourcing, negotiations, contract formation, supplier management and strategic planning for all Mine related needs
Contract and vendor management, regulatory compliance are key aspects of the role
Key commodity group responsibilities include MRO, Services, Capital, Repairable and Stores purchases
Interactions with personnel range from the tactical to the strategic, involving communications with management
Must have skills and flexibility to support and cover other procurement positions within the department as needed
Identify and take action on tasks and projects to drive compliance to Genesis policies and practices
Communicate (verbal and written) throughout the organization to ensure business needs are met
Contribute to the development of department processes and procedures, including onboarding and training of new department employees
Punctual, customer focused and display sense of urgency
Capable of self-starting and acting independently on tasks and projects
Activities:
Conducts local/regional sourcing, including negotiating and contracting, for materials and services for the site
Manage Contracts and maintain vendor relationships critical to the site
Ensures appropriate local sourcing process takes place according to Green River purchasing policies and procedures
Ensures the site implements and is compliant with global/regional/local purchasing contracts
Works with suppliers to resolve local supply issues, invoicing issues, tracks vendor reliability & performance as well as product/material/service quality
Evaluates supplier performance data and drives improvements
Identifies procurement savings opportunities, executing and documenting results
Reviews and approves new vendor requests; assures supplier prequalification is performed and evaluated prior to adding new vendors, as applicable
Works with other functional areas to streamline and improve process and ensure site is trained on procurement policies and processes
Ensure proper order/transactional execution, data entry and follow-up reporting is done in a quality and timely manner
Provide the information to report the budget and forecast information to the Controllers, as required
Support relevant site quality systems, Safety Systems, or other such management systems where applicable.
Participates in the safety programs and activities
Service the organization through relationship building between Procurement and all other units
Execution of detailed PO/contracts relating to services, materials, timeliness, cost savings and profitability
Skill, Capability and Educational Requirements:
Required:
High School diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) with 1-3 years of relevant functional procurement experience or
Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university OR High School diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) with 4-5 years of relevant functional procurement experience in a manufacturing setting or
Bachelor's degree from an accredited 4-year college or university OR High School diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) with 5+ years of relevant functional procurement experience in a manufacturing setting or project engineering firm focusing on capital project
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Effective negotiation and influencing skills
CPM or CPSM Certification desired
Integrated use of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and strong working knowledge of MS office
Execution of detailed PO/contracts relating to services, materials, timeliness, cost savings and profitability
A relevant mix of education and other experiences will be considered
