**Job Summary:**

Stone Gardens Farm Market is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Produce Clerk to join our team. We are looking for someone who is knowledgeable about vegetables and fruits along with the local seasonality of them, enjoys helping customers, and can provide great customer service while keeping our produce fresh and meeting our high quality standards. Key Responsibilities:

* Customer Engagement:

- Welcome, engage, serve, and thank customers.

- Maintain a friendly and enthusiastic atmosphere with a focus on customer care.

- Provide fast and friendly service, addressing and resolving customer concerns promptly, including replacing bad products, expediting returns or refunds, and assisting customers in locating items.

* Receiving Duties:

- Verify orders against invoices and report shortages or discrepancies.

- Break-down loads, date products, cut cases, stack, and put away products in the cooler.

- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the produce storage area.

* Merchandising:

- Ensure freshness and quality of produce through proper handling to minimize damage and spoilage.

- Build and rotate produce displays, discard outdated or spoiled products, and ensure proper pricing and signage.

- Ensure top-notch quality for our customers by thoroughly reviewing products daily.

* Maintenance:

- Maintain cleanliness and eye-appeal of the work area, storage area, and selling floor.

- Ensure a safe and secure work environment.

- Perform duties with honesty and integrity.

- Complete other tasks as assigned or needed.

Requirements:

*Experience:

- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).

- Ability to compute weights and measures.

* Abilities:

- Consistently provide friendly, courteous service to customers.

- Work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Conduct visual inspections of products and displays.

- Communicate effectively in writing.

- Reach, lift, and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs. often.

- Push and pull fully loaded hand trucks and pallet jacks.

- Stand for extended periods, walk, bend, twist, and turn frequently.

- Perform quick, safe movements and use related equipment with manual dexterity.

- Work with hands exposed to cold, moisture, fruits, and vegetables.

- Work for prolonged periods in refrigerated environments (34 – 55 degrees F).

- Learn and adhere to proper handling, preparation, seasonality, perishability, safety, and sanitation procedures.

* Additional Requirements:

- Must be 18 years of age or older.

- Ability to wear hats, hairnets, gloves, and other personal protective equipment as required.

- Use tools and equipment such as knives, wrappers, scales, and carts.
