Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Produce Associate to join our team at a leading grocery store. As a key member of our produce department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the store. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be knowledgeable about fresh produce, and possess strong retail math skills.

Responsibilities:

- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and offering product recommendations.
- Receive and stock produce items from shipments, ensuring that all products are properly stored and displayed.
- Manage inventory levels and monitor sales data to optimize product offerings and minimize waste.
- Perform retail math tasks, including calculating prices and handling cash transactions.
- Package and prepare produce items for sale, ensuring that they are visually appealing and meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve issues and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Sell and promote produce items to customers, identifying opportunities to increase sales and improve profitability.
- Handle customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with stocking shelves and managing inventory levels in other areas of the store as needed.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a grocery store or similar retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of fresh produce and its various types.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift, move, and stock heavy boxes and containers.
- Basic knowledge of retail math and cash handling procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and move around the store.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to manage and maintain inventory levels effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

- Familiarity with inventory management software and practices.
- Ability to sell and promote products effectively.
- Experience with shipping and receiving procedures.
