Job Description

NISC is looking for a product manager for our Mapping and Staking applications.

The product manager is expected to have exceptional communications skills with a strong technical background in order to translate business requirements into technical requirements.

The successful applicant will work on high-level vision planning projects down to individual technical requirements for development teams.

Applicants with knowledge or experience working with ESRI based GIS systems, as well as power distribution modeling.

Essential Duties: Manage the product lifecycle for new products being developed and manage existing product enhancements and priorities with internal stakeholders.

Establish best practices and guidelines for how functional requirements and business processes are defined.

Manage the product roadmap for a specific product and work with all stakeholders across the business.

Lead research, analysis and resolution of Member/Customer product needs.

Coordinate and manage work with support and product SME's participating in the process of defining functional requirements.

Collaborate across departments to develop, determine and execute new functionality as part of the product development lifecycle.

Support sales, sales operations, demonstrations, account managers and other teams regarding product features and functionality.

Engage with team members during product development and ensure that product and client goals are being met.

Perform business case research and ensure business cases support product and organizational objectives.

Experience Strongly Preferred: Experience with or in-depth knowledge of any ESRI based GIS solution preferred.

Experience with other open source GIS solutions also welcome.Experience with modeling transmission and distribution systems within a GIS system.

Experience with or in-depth knowledge of electric and/or broadband design applications.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 5+ years of related experience preferred.

Advanced-level knowledge or experience in the Utility or Telecom industries strongly preferred.

Working level knowledge of business-related software applications and services.

Working level knowledge of product portfolio's functionalities, integrations and technical architecture.

Working level knowledge of other integrated industry applications and services.

Advanced knowledge of Project Management processes and theory.

Excellent research and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.

Working level knowledge of end to end software development lifecycles.

Strong ability to effectively lead, influence, teach and mentor others.

Ability to identify key performance indicators and define sound business process of product development.

Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals and objectives of the position.

Education Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience.
