Job Description

Job Summary: The Print Production Operator is responsible for managing and executing high-quality print jobs. This role involves preparing print/install jobs, setting up print queues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of print orders. The operator will be responsible for the efficient use of printers, software, and related computer systems to achieve superior results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and manage printers, ensuring high-quality output for a variety of print jobs (e.g., signage, promotional materials, decals, packaging).
  • Prepare and optimize digital files for printing, including color management, sizing, and format adjustments.
  • Set up and monitor print queues using the appropriate RIP (Raster Image Processor) software, and other printing softwares.
  • Troubleshoot printing issues related to software, print heads, ink levels, and print quality, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on printers, including print head cleaning, ink replenishment, and calibration.
  • Ensure print jobs meet customer specifications and deadlines, adhering to quality control standards.
  • Manage and archive digital files for future use or reprints, maintaining a well-organized digital workflow.
  • Communicate with design teams, production staff, and clients to confirm specifications and resolve any potential issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all materials and equipment are in proper working order.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies to continuously improve workflow efficiency and output quality.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with printers or similar large-format printing equipment.
  • Proficiency in RIP software (e.g., RasterLink, Onyx) and related design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong understanding of print production workflows, color management, and UV printing technology.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and maintain print equipment.
  • Attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills for working with clients and internal teams.

Preferred Skills:

CPU Printing software literacy

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.25 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
