Job Description

This position ensures raw materials are available to the business when needed, reducing total cost of ownership of raw materials, working closely with leadership teams to discern their needs and provide relevant options. In this role, they will be responsible for coordination and scheduling of production processes, management of production/delivery schedules, and analysis of production specifications and plant capacity data.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and resource requirements.
  • Plan and schedule workflow for specific departments and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequences, lead time and order files.
  • Manage master production schedule to satisfy sequence and lead times to meet shipping dates.
  • Expedite operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Prepare and distribute production schedules and reports.
  • Coordinate and schedules shipments of incoming supplies.
  • Conduct daily inventory of product line.
  • Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement.
  • Strive for continuous improvement of the supply base through supplier performance and relationship management activities. Consider a strategic, long-term view in making thoughtful decisions.
  • Communicate effectively with facility leadership, sales and operation teams
  • Willingness and ability to be adaptable to frequent change, while multi-tasking in fast paced environment
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function (Business/Production management degree preferred)
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and supply of materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply mathematical formulas to practical situation.
  • Ability to interact well with internal and external customers.
  • Preferred experience of 3 -5 years in production planning in a related industry.
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel is essential.
