Job Description

The Delaware Ecumenical Council on Children and Families (DECCF) is a lead statewide nonprofit, interfaith organization serving to improve the health, safety, wellness, and quality of life for children and families across their lifespan. We are seeking our next Faith In Action - Program Coordinator, Part-Time, to serve primarily in New Castle County and Wilmington of Delaware. Faith In Action is DECCF's primary service program that offers services to Delmarva residents who are elderly, disabled, chronically ill, or visually impaired. The ideal candidate is a creative, self-starter, person of faith, committed to DECCF core values, is compassionate and patient. S/he should also have excellent communication, collaborative/community building, and management skills.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Recruit volunteers to become Faith In Action interfaith caregivers.
  • Organizes faith and other communities within designated areas for program participation.
  • Recruit clients and client families for program participation and receiving services
  • Serve personally as a caregiver for Faith In Action clients, percentage of weekly hours may vary based upon need. There is no direct health or medical care involved. Our services to clients primarily range from transportation to medical appointments and other important errands, or assisting with reading/writing correspondence, etc.
  • Assist food insecure clients by delivering food bundles from the Food Bank of Delaware.
  • Help publicize and market project activities.
  • Represent DECCF and assists the Executive Director as needed in northern and central Delaware.
  • Must have current driver's license, and a reliable personal vehicle with current auto insurance. Mileage is reimbursed.
  • Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma with some educational background or training in health, social services, or education. Experience in human service delivery, or social work is valuable, as well as ability to work respectfully and fairly with a diverse population.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Work Location: In person
