ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Founded in 2019, the Metiri Group (www.metirigroup.com) is an emerging, fast growing environmental testing laboratory group. With operations currently in California, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, Metiri’s objective is to provide full-service environmental laboratory services and solutions with the highest caliber service experience.

Our business is primed for rapid growth and we’re looking for a Project Manager to join our dynamic and growing team.

Highly motivated candidates with prior experience in a laboratory would be ideal. The selected individuals will be self-motivated and self-directed, yet work as part of a team to provide our clients with high quality analytical testing of waters, soils/solids, and whole air samples.

Essential Duties and responsibilities:

  • Verify all new work has been reviewed to ensure that the laboratory has the appropriate facilities and resources before commencing such work.
  • Attends Client on-boarding meetings, facilitates sample pick-up and delivery of reports and bottles as needed.
  • Solicits client feedback to improve service.
  • Monitors work-in-progress and notifies clients of delays or problems. Communicate any recurring problems forward to senior management and work with the management team on problem resolution.
  • Coordinate with and provide staff members with all appropriate documentation, reports, data, etc. to successfully execute projects.
  • Responds to requests, questions and complaints concerning billing or services rendered, referring complaints to designated leadership for investigation. Communicates project related client issues and complaints and proposes improvements. Update Client feedback logs.
  • Document deviations from the project plan and reporting them to the Lab Ops Director and QA Officer.
  • Ensure that team members clearly understand their duties and responsibilities for the project and client needs.
  • Routinely review, create, and aid in data entry to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and ensure reporting meets Client specific requirements for reporting limits (RL), report type, and electronic deliverable format.
  • Demonstrates attention to details, accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Review and authorize final reports. Verify that appropriate methodologies are followed as documented in the project plan.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional situations while continuing to perform duties efficiently and professionally.
  • Monitors compliance reports and initiates retesting or re-sampling when necessary.
  • Arrange delivery of subcontracted samples to contract lab, including communication of proper analysis methods, limits, and due dates. Review and enter subcontract results into the LIMS system to ensure proper reporting.
  • Technical Skills - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses; Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills by staying up to date with project regulations and requirements, including participation in association webinars, seminars, and presentations.

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks and best practices
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of managing, mentoring, and coaching team members as necessary

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • Minimum of one (1) year in a production laboratory setting, preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience, preferred
