The ideal candidate will have a strong background in proposal writing and development, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. This role involves coordinating and preparing White Papers, Proposals, Briefings, and other necessary items in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs), and other solicitation documents to secure new business opportunities for the company. The candidate will also coordinate tradeshow participation and other activities related to Hyperion's outward-facing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proposal Coordination: Lead the proposal development process from start to finish, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.
  • Content Development: Write, edit, and format proposal content, including executive summaries, technical sections, past performance, and management plans.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with subject matter experts, engineering teams, and contracting administrative staff to gather necessary information and ensure the accuracy and relevance of proposal content.
  • Compliance: Ensure all proposals meet solicitation and organizational requirements and comply with company standards and best practices. These are typically rigorously detailed, organization specific, and sometimes subject to change during the solicitation process.
  • Documentation: Maintain proposal templates, databases, and repositories for efficient and consistent use across projects.
  • Review Process: Schedule, coordinate and facilitate proposal review meetings, including color team reviews (e.g., Pink, Red, Gold) to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify potential opportunities and support the development of competitive strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of proposal development activities.
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate Hyperion's participation in tradeshows and other marketing activities, ensuring effective representation and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Communications, English, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in proposal development, preferably in a government contracting or technical environment.

Skills:

  • Ability to read, interpret, and synthesize solicitation requirements into a proposal development plan. This will vary based on the type of solicitation, organization, technology, and many other factors.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Familiarity with software (e.g., Unanet, SharePoint) is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Willingness to accept short-lead time projects and tight timelines which, on occasion, could require work outside of normal business hours.

Personal Attributes:

  • High level of initiative and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships.
