Job Summary:

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems Mission Capability Verification Center (MCVC) located at White Sands Missile Range (WSMR), NM is seeking a talented and results oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join the Mission Assurance Team.

This position is an onsite role.


Responsibilities to Anticipate
:

  • Perform quality inspection of items throughout program life cycles from incoming, in process, and final inspection of piece parts, sub-assemblies, and end products (Systems, Missiles, Test Equipment, etc.).
  • Perform calibration coordination and check on various items.
  • Work with mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic material and assemblies.
  • Perform quality inspections, test verifications and process validations in support of multiple radar and missile programs.
  • Complete verification and validation activities through performance of inspections, test mission plans and procedures, technical data package, other procedures and calibration activities.
  • Ensure product and processes are executed to documented requirements.
  • Interfaces and interacts with other teams, management, and the customer to achieve objectives.
  • Capture quality data and helps prepare reports on quality metrics and results, assist with identification, resolution, and closure of nonconformances/none-compliances.
  • Track and report progress of product through life cycle and support materials / tooling.
  • Perform work phases in all phases of product life cycle from incoming through product verification, validation, sale, and post-sale support.
  • Perform work on calibration items, updates database, calibration checks and adjustments.
  • Work in remote and hazardous locations to support program requirements.
  • Will work in an environment where there is energized equipment, radar radiation hazards, and unexploded ordnance.
  • Work overtime hours, weekend work and travel (up to 25%) as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years-experience in a similar quality inspection capacity
  • Working experience inspecting complex and non-complex circuit card, cable, mechanical, and/or system level equipment.
  • Working experience in quality inspection and test methods and workmanship standards (i.e., MIL-HDBK-454, J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, and / or IPC-A-620).
  • Working experience with inspection and/or test equipment (i.e., Microscopes, Calipers, Gauge Blocks, and/or Digital Multi-Meter).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a related discipline.
  • Existing DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience in a quality capacity with Department of Defense (DoD) or a DoD Contractor.
  • Experience with radar and/or missile systems (THAAD, Patriot system or similar programs.
  • Experience using complex inspection equipment (for example Comparator, Coordinate Measurement Machines).
  • Knowledge of inspection and calibration programs and databases.
  • Ability to learn and apply daily inspection, test data capture in various computer programs such as SAP, ALCS (internal), or other calibration, inspection, and test reporting computer applications.
  • Ability to multi-task, work in exciting environment, goal oriented, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer skills and programs (for example Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point).

Additional Information:

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
