Job Description

Summary
As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our church, utilizing your core skills in computer literacy, phone etiquette, and customer service to provide a welcoming and efficient experience for visitors and callers. Your premium skills in Front desk management will enhance your ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and cater to diverse needs. Leveraging your relevant skills in Microsoft Office and data entry, you will assist in administrative tasks and maintaining office organization. Join our team and be a vital part of our church office's daily operations.

Duties include:

  • Serve as receptionist each morning with some flexibility on hours.
  • Greet visitors, answer the telephone, take reservations for meals and events as needed, maintaining neatness of lobby and reception area.
  • Provide support to the volunteer receptionist program by helping to maintain a list of volunteers for afternoon shifts, securing substitutes as needed.
  • Provide administrative support for the Executive Director, Office Manager and additional staff as needed.
  • Handle bulk mailings, reservations by phone, setting up online reservations, monitoring responses, preparing spreadsheets on attendance for such events (dinners, classes, retreats, etc.).
  • Maintaining pew pockets and working with volunteers.
  • Take mail to the post office box at the end of your shift.

Requirements:

  • Computer skills, including knowledge of Word, Excel, the ability to learn the proprietary church software and additional software as needed.
  • Knowledge of and comfort in church environment.
  • Ability to use a postage meter, copier, and other office equipment.

Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Strong computer skills with experience in various office software
- Demonstrated ability in clerical tasks and data entry
- Excellent customer service and phone etiquette
- Organized with exceptional time management skills
- Previous experience in administrative roles

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
