Essential Functions and Objectives:
Administers and manages activities within a specific area of a responsibility.
Serves as the subject matter expert and applies gained knowledge to execute, maintain and improve systems, programs, or processes.
Serves as a K-12 regional expert for educational technology, including planning, providing guidance on policies, standards and technology purchases, and providing professional development with the overall goal of supporting the excellence of teaching and learning.
Provides various support and conducts activities related to logistics, reporting, training, communications, and processes.
Participates in the planning and implementation of new initiatives.
Assesses and troubleshoots escalated problems and applies expert understanding to resolve complex challenges of stakeholders; focuses on root cause identification in order to achieve systemic and sustainable improvement.
Approves and documents exceptions for compliance record keeping and reporting.
Ensures appropriate key stakeholder involvement in planning, goal-setting, and implementation to achieve buy-in of work products.
Ensures purposeful, positive and professional interactions and relationships with all stakeholders; enables consistent application of work products across the district.
Identifies opportunities for improvement, prioritizes, and recommends solutions to management.
Implements approved enhancements to ensure consistency across the district.
Identifies opportunities to reduce costs; analyzes available data, trends, and feedback, and ensures compliance with expectations for optimal operation and goal achievement.
Provides instructional coaching for principals, STL's, RTS's, teachers and ILT teams that incorporates SAMR, 4C's and curriculum and instruction to support student learning.
Works with leadership and teachers to understand culture, building and district goals in order to focus on closing the student achievement gap through embedded instructional technology to support all learners in the classroom and improve instruction around technology.
Ensures equity, collaboration and rigorous instruction are at the root of the planning, goal-setting and implementation to achieve rigorous, embedded instructional technology into instruction.
Create a positive and professional relationship between all stakeholders in order to improve rigorous instruction.
As determined by the Regional Superintendent, works with the K-12 region and/or individual schools to consult on instructional technology purchases and decisions, as well as works to effectively integrate technology in school culture.
In the K-12 region and its schools, provides instructional coaching and professional development that supports the integration of technology into the current learning environment in order to empower students and teachers to create a learning environment that is rigorous and supports culturally responsive education, digital curriculum, and new technologies in classroom teaching.
Implements systems to document each school’s technology and to enable school staff to effectively select, store, document, and replace technology, software and related materials.
Provides the K-12 region and its schools with guidance for policy/procedural/standards considerations for student and staff use of technology.
This includes compliance with related Federal and State laws and district networks and policies, as well as attention to ISTE.
Stay informed of the best, most current digital resources and tools that support best first instruction and technology.
Provides professional learning opportunities at the district level (e.g. Teal Days, Tech Summit, Schoology courses & training).
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:
Three (3) or more years of Educational Technology and at least three (3) years of classroom experience.
Experience in planning and managing the complexity of educational technology in school settings.
Experience working with students and adults on technology and technology issues, especially in urban schools and with urban school populations.
Valid Colorado teacher or principal license required.
Knowledge with Google Suite.
Effective time management and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Effectively handles multiple demands and competing deadlines.
The ability to take responsibility for one’s own performance.
Works collaboratively with others on a team.
Aptitude for variety and changing expectations in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in planning and managing the complexity of educational technology in school settings, preferred.
Positive experience in using technology in urban schools & with urban school populations, preferred.
Experience working with students and adults on technology and technology issues, preferred.
Bachelor's Degree in education or a technology appropriate field required.
Master’s Degree in Educational Technology is preferred.
