Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Regional Sales Manager for the Western Region is responsible for the growth of Storm Manufacturing Group (SMG) through sales of Kingston products to newly identified and established customers in all states west of the Mississippi river. Responsibilities include establishing new accounts, the growth and maintenance of existing accounts, meeting established sales quotas while maintaining acceptable margins, monitoring competitive activity and trends within the territory, and keeping customer informed about available products and services. Minimum 3 years of industrial value sales experience in a large geographical territory required.

A. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Regular Functions:

  • Develop and implement a sales plan with defined objectives. Prepare strategies, budgets, forecast and action plans. Report sales activity through regular sales reports submitted to manager on a timely basis.
  • Lead sales campaigns for all phases from identifying opportunities to structuring the deal, negotiating, and closing opportunities.
  • Regularly track progress in Salesforce CRM for sales activities/targets and execute the initiatives/actions as established with Sales Management.
  • Plan regular visits to distribution and assigned OEMs in the territory to maintain current business and develop new business.
  • Increase the company’s market share by identifying and winning sales opportunities within assigned area of responsibility
  • Correctly interpret customers’ requirements and offer an appropriate solution from our product range.
  • Identify new product ideas based on customer feedback and understanding of market.
  • Obtain vendor approval to gain specification approval on new accounts for Kingston products. Provide monthly sales forecasting, feedback to support SIOP planning process.
  • Provide input to SMG management and engineering on new and existing products.
  • Develop and conduct technical and sales presentations to customers and prospects. Attend trade shows in any location as required.
  • Attend sales or marketing meetings, lectures or classes as required.
  • Manage and coordinate sales efforts with direct accounts and through distributors.
  • Travel to customer sites as needed. Schedule trips, develop itineraries and prioritize calls to ensure maximum efficiency of travel time while controlling travel cost. Overnight travel expected to be approximately 50-75% and may include an occasional weekend.
  • Initiate, engage and follow up with customer contacts and interactions through professionally written emails, letters, proposals and other business correspondence.
  • Other duties as required.

Periodic Functions:

  • Develop and/or submit reports as needed.
  • Develop and deliver presentations as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not currently manage anyone but is expected to exercise leadership skills.

B. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS include:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering.
  • Minimum three years industrial valve sales experience.

Professional/Technical Training and Skills:

  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Able to read technical drawings.
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Effective at presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Professional Training and Knowledge:
  • Experience in valve industry.
  • Expertise in a commercial role is a plus.
  • Demonstrated sales experience in the industry.
  • Completion of Sales training an asset

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Proficiency in use of Salesforce CRM
  • Valid drivers’ license required and must be maintained.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69,744.00 - $80,053.00 per year
