Overview
Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) for the night shift. As an MSICU RN, you will play a critical role in providing intensive care to patients facing a wide range of complex medical and surgical conditions. Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status and needs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the facility.

Skills

• Proficiency in using healthcare systems for patient management and documentation.
• Experience with cardiac catheterization procedures is preferred.
• Familiarity with protocols in a Level II Trauma Center setting.
• Knowledge of infection control practices to minimize risks in clinical settings.
• Skills in administering botulinum toxin treatment when applicable.
• Experience in home community care for diverse patient populations.
• Background in ICU nursing for critical care management.
• Experience working with pediatric patients, ensuring age-specific care standards are met.
• Understanding of memory care principles for patients with cognitive impairments.
• Competence in geriatrics, focusing on the unique needs of elderly patients.

Qualifications

• RN License

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.75 - $62.00 per hour
