Registered Nurse (RN) - Admissions Specialty

Dover Behavioral Health System is a 104-bed, acute care psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful Dover, Delaware area. Dover Behavioral Health System features individual units for adolescents and adults and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. Shift:

  • Monday - Friday
  • Day Shift

What do our Admissions Nurses do?

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric and/or chemical dependency assessments, crisis intervention, and professional advice, potentially leading to admission to DBHS Program.
  • Serve diverse customer groups including physicians, emergency departments, schools, social services, law enforcement, employers, and the public.
  • Respond to inquiries via telephone, off-site, and face-to-face interactions, guiding individuals to appropriate mental health care resources.
  • Document crisis calls and relevant information, coordinate admissions from other facilities, assist patients and families in adjusting to hospital admissions, conduct crisis safety plans, and provide clinical information to insurance companies for service approval.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid DE/Multi/ Compact RN license
  • Previous Intake/admissions experience in a substance use treatment facility or behavioral health facility highly preferred
