Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate RN Manager with a strong background in psychiatric nursing to oversee and coordinate the delivery of high-quality care in our psychiatric unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing psychiatric services, a thorough understanding of mental health disorders, and the ability to lead a dedicated team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and psychiatric technicians.
- Schedule staff shifts and manage staffing levels to ensure optimal patient care.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to staff.
- Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Clinical Oversight:
- Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in the psychiatric unit.
- Ensure that all care provided adheres to established protocols and best practices for psychiatric care.
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Quality and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
- Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Handle incident reports, patient grievances, and other compliance issues.
- Training and Development:
- Develop and implement training programs for new staff and ongoing education for current staff.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in psychiatric nursing and integrate evidence-based practices into the unit.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Act as a liaison between the psychiatric unit and other departments to ensure coordinated care.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and other relevant forums.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Licensure:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in [State].
- Certification in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing (PMH-BC) preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 3 years in psychiatric nursing.
- Previous management or supervisory experience in a psychiatric setting is highly desirable.
