Job Description

Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Adhere to and promotes the mission, vision, and values of AA Urology.

2. Provide patients with safe, therapeutic, and quality care by utilizing nursing, setting appropriate priorities, and assessing patients at intervals as stated by our policies and procedures.

3. Evaluates the effectiveness of nursing care and revise the plan of care, if applicable.

4. Maintains efficient functioning of equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment.

5. Safely implement physician's orders; accurately and promptly, documenting all activities in a complete and legible manner.

6. Assists anesthesiologist before, during, and after induction of anesthesia.

7. Monitors sterile and aseptic techniques in all areas of the perioperative process.

8. Communicates appropriate information to all team members concerning patient care throughout the perioperative stay.

9. Recognize and respond appropriately to crisis situations, and seek assistance as needed.

10. Protect patient's rights, dignity, and privacy

11. Participates in quality performance improvement projects

12. Uses problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with team members.

13. Ability to manage difficult situations involving patients, physicians, or others in a professional manner.

14. Maintains required competencies.


Professional Requirements

  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including all state, federal and local regulations.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner at all times.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business practices.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and in-services.
  • Expect exposure to blood and body fluids, communicable diseases, chemicals, radiation, and repetitive motions

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Maryland; or possess a compact state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Two Years of perioperative services experience
