Pet Pantry Warehouse of Riverside CT is seeking Retail Sales Associates to join our team!

Pet Pantry Warehouse is a local family owned and operated pet retail company proudly serving 7 locations in Westchester NY and Fairfield CT communities for over 75 years. At Pet Pantry Warehouse we offer the highest quality pet foods and supplies, as well as knowledgeable advice from our extensively trained staff! We look forward to adding new members to join our Pet Consultant team!

Seasonal or high school applicants will not be considered for this position. College students applying must be willing to continue employment after school sessions begin, even if part time only. High School students will not be considered due to their limited schedule availability on weekdays. Seasonal positions do not exist, as our training process is extensive and will not be completed before seasonal periods end.

You will be responsible for selling products, merchandise, and services in a retail setting in order to drive company revenue. Outgoing and energetic personalities who enjoy working with people and pets, and understand the environment of retail sales are a must!
Opportunity exists to attain full time status and upward promotion within the company. Animal lovers are welcome and preferred!

Starting wages begin at $15.69/hour. However we are open to discuss a higher wage rate based on prior retail experience.

Retail Sales Associate Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

• Welcome and identify customer needs
• Explain products and services to customers
• Monitor inventory to ensure product is in stock
• Cashier Duties
• Restocking product/assisting in delivery receiving
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints
• Store Maintenance
• Van deliveries

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to build rapport with customers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lift 60#
• Flexible schedule-ability to fill morning and evening shifts weekdays and weekends
• Wednesdays, Fridays, and weekend days are required! Please do not apply if you have scheduling restrictions on these days. (Schedule will not be limited to these days.)
