Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing various medical and surgical procedures. You will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and IV infusions as prescribed.
- Perform dialysis procedures and manage patients requiring critical care.
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records using medical terminology.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment plans and post-operative care.
- Participate in the development of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for long-term care patients.
- Assist in hospice palliative medicine initiatives for end-of-life care.
- Provide specialized care for neonatal patients, including the use of neonatal ventilators when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable.
- Previous experience in medical/surgical nursing or related fields is highly desirable.
- Proficient in critical care techniques and practices, including but not limited to dialysis, IV infusion, and infant care.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and hospital medicine practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
- Compassionate approach to patient care with an emphasis on senior care principles.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
