RCA (Rural Carrier Assistant)

Functional Purpose: Cases, delivers, and collects mail along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle; provides customers on the route with a variety of services.
- Customer service, the face of USPS in the community
- Do not wear a uniform / Mostly driving / Work independently
- Some offices require you to provide your own vehicle (equipment allowance in addition to hourly rate)
- Delivering mail and packages in all elements
- Ability to pick up work at other USPS locations within 50 miles
- Flexible workforce and used on an as needed basis (fluctuating schedule)

- Raises are based on route evaluations and cost of living raises based on the contract
