Responsibilities

Supports branch efforts to develop and maintain a safety culture to improve the safety & health of all employees through safety policies, preventative maintenance, reporting, and training criteria. Helps evaluate processes to ensure continuous improvement in location safety performance. Works with location management, and Division Safety team to support development and execution of safety programs and initiatives. Works with other safety leaders and professionals to develop and share best practices. Understand and apply fundamental mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Responsible for multiple sites. Maintain good housekeeping in work area. Support safety programs, OSHA, and DOT regulatory compliance. Assist with preparing appropriate reports and communicating safety results. Demonstrate strong commitment to safety, quality, environmental awareness, and continuous process improvement. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications: College Degree or equivalent work experience in related job function.Must be able to develop effective relationships with appropriate audiences, i.e. government and legal agencies, all levels of region employees, and medical community. Individual must be focused on building positive strategic working relationships with a high level of drive, motivation and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs with a sense of immediacy. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem analysis skills and the ability to manage resources, and lead and motivate people.

Preferred Qualifications: Certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, or American Society of Safety Engineers preferred.
