Safety and Health Specialist/Analyst – GPC Safety & Health

This posting serves to fill the Safety and Health Specialist - Analyst role within GPC Safety and Health and this position will be located at GPC’s Corporate Headquarters in Atlanta, GA.

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for management and oversight of the various Safety and Health database systems, database systems, and technical field applications. These systems support the company’s compliance with OSHA, FMCSA and to support the reduction of workplace incidents. It is responsible for enhancements to the company’s safety performance and compliance programs by compiling and analyzing both leading and lagging safety performance indicator data. The position is responsible for utilizing data to create reports and presentations to communicate the company’s legal compliance and progress toward Safety Excellence through our Safety and Health Management System.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Safety and Health analyst or as a Technical Analyst
  • BS degree preferred (experience will be accepted in lieu of formal degree).
  • Experience/knowledge of various databases used to ensure compliance such as Learning Management Systems, OSHA compliance software, and DOT Compliance software or transferable knowledge.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment required.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft tools – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, TEAMS, SharePoint, and Power BI.
  • Knowledge of DOT file management is preferred.
  • Experience/proficiency with website management system preferred
  • Ability to work and obtain results with minimal supervision
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues with limited oversight
  • Ability to prioritize workload

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for implementation of safety related databases and safety performance programs for safe driving initiatives. Accountable for development and implementation of process improvements and safety performance management tools/best practice programs. Works as a liaison between the , Health, and Safety department and other departments to ensure compliance with policies and DOT standards and internal reporting requirements.
  • Identify and implement various training tools and resources within the organization to promote safe driving skills and behaviors.
  • Responsible to assist the team with improvements of existing programs (Defensive Driving training, DOT files and reporting, etc.) and optimization of those programs through quality administration and analysis.
  • Implement and maintain Driver Management Systems to ensure data accuracy and manage the reporting and training associated with these systems and the company policies.
  • Serve as a backup to the other members of the Analyst team.
  • Develop timely reports and dynamic presentations for executives, managers and end users.
  • Provide frequent analytical reports to business owners on the safety performance of their departments. Provide dashboards for business owners to communicate trends/results.
