This position has a starting rate of $17.30/hour

Department: Transportation Job Status: Part-time

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: Transportation Manager and Transportation Coordinator

Positions Supervised: None Amount of Travel Required: 90%; Shawnee County

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday


Position Summary

This position requires flexibility, and the ability to form working relationships with clients and staff members as well as remain calm in stressful situations. This position requires you to follow process and procedures as well as operating agency vehicles. Documenting and recording is an essential function for this position as well as open communication with the Transportation Coordinator.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Transporting clients in agency appointed vehicles to and from campus.
  • Required to follow HIPPA processes and procedures when handling sensitive route information.
  • Operating agency vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Reporting any defects in vehicle operation, i.e., brakes, worn tires, etc., immediately to Transportation Coordinator for repair.
  • Reporting/documenting any unsafe actions or behavior that could jeopardize the safety of other passengers.
  • Maintaining driving logs and other documentation in a clear, accurate and timely manner.
  • Following agency and department policies and procedures.
  • Any other driving duties as assigned.

Education/Licensure:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Must successfully pass the KBI, DCF Central Registry and all background investigations.
  • Must possess a valid state of Kansas Driver’s license, a good driving record, current auto insurance and reliable transportation.


Experience:

  • Must have a history of a good driving record as viewed in a Motor Vehicle Report


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to form good working relationships with clients and staff is also desired as is the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Driver must have a sound KBI check, Central Child Abuse Registry check and other background checks that will demonstrate and support that the driver is of sound mind and good judgment.
