Class Definition

To assist the chief training instructor in the instruction of election officials, voters and civic groups in the proper use of voting machines and oversee the total maintenance, shipping, receiving and inspection of the Board's vote, tabulation and ballot marking equipment.
Prepare mail ballots for processing which includes scanning, sorting, stapling, stripping prior to the processing of the ballot. Assisting poll worker trainers through out the state. Maintenance of voting machines in a warehouse environment. Hours may fluctuate due to the demands of elections. Preparing supplies to be distributed to all the cities and towns for the Primary and Statewide elections. Preparing voting machines for testing and prepare for transport to polling locations.

Illustrative Examples of Work Performed

To instruct training for poll workers for all elections, voter registration, poll pad programming for elections. Maintenance of voting equipment.

Required Qualifications for Appointment

The ability to perform tasks requiring mechanical/electrical aptitude; the ability to work with peers and subordinates;
the ability to train seasonal warehouse staff and election officials; the ability to understand and follow oral and
written instructions; and related capacities and abilities. Applicant must be capable of lifting 80 lbs.

Experience: Such as may have been gained through employment with elections in a responsible supervisory or training position. Or,
any combination of education and experience that shall be substantially equivalent to the above education and
experience.

Also, ability to lift 80lbs.
