PURPOSE OF THE JOB
  • Responsible for ensuring the physical security of corporate employees, buildings, and grounds.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Work Experience
  • 1 year of experience in security-related field, as an officer or related position
Required Education
  • High-School Diploma or GED in general field of study

  • A valid Arizona driver license with an acceptable driving record

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Monitor traffic to and from the buildings, internal activity and fire zones using computerized security system.
  • Investigate suspect activity and take corrective measures if necessary. Investigate thefts, break-ins, or other events that effect the welfare of corporate property and employees.
  • Monitor closed circuit television monitors (CCTV) for activities in the executive building, parking garage, headquarters and satellite buildings and take corrective measures if necessary.
  • Patrol buildings, parking garage and grounds periodically, utilizing check lists, to verify that doors are locked/unlocked, lights are on/off, and chillers/heat units are functioning properly and general security is maintained. .
  • Monitor employees entering the buildings to ensure that badges are worn and are working properly. While patrolling, ensure personnel are wearing proper badges
  • Manage or coordinate all emergency situations efficiently and effectively; summoning adequate help, informing management, executing proper interface with employees, and if necessary, utilizing available fire equipment.
  • Monitor and determine appropriate access for visitors, salesmen, and vendors.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the layout of buildings, including location of doors, badge readers, stairways, elevators, mechanical equipment, fire zones, and fire equipment
  • Monitor the security system console logs for unusual door and employee badge activity and periodically replace logs and log ribbons, maintaining completed logs in a secure place.
  • Maintain a daily duty log, documenting all activities, problems, and unusual occurrences and recording details of their progress, completion, or resolution.
  • Perform "Change of the Officer," relinquishing the corporate keys, daily duty log, and patrol check lists to the next security guard, and communicating pertinent transactions and unfinished business.
  • Handle bank delivery on a daily basis, if needed.
  • The position requires a full-time work schedule. Full-time is defined as working at least 40 hours per week, plus any additional hours as requested or as needed to meet business requirements.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
Required Job Skills
  • Basic skill in use of office equipment including copier, fax machine, scanner and telephones
  • Intermediate PC proficiency, including ability to type 30 wpm accurately
  • Basic skill in word processing and email software
