Security Specialist

Key Role:

Perform a wide range of day-to-day security functions to ensure the protection of firm and government sensitive and classified information in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). Work without considerable direction, with some guidance from the Special Security Office (SSO), Facility Security Officer (FSO), and Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in implementing security procedures to enable military, contractors, government civilians, and other tenants to operate in nontraditional environments to support critical missions. Apply specific functional, working, and general expertise in multiple security fields, including personnel security, document control, visitor control, physical security, classification management, and prime and subcontract DD Form 254 administration. Interact with government security officials, clients, and employees to perform security duties, including clearance processing, personnel security record management, adverse reports, administrative inquiries, suspicious contact reports, visit certifications, document control and support industrial security efforts as needed. Provide security advice, guidance, and recommendations to all levels of staff, coordinate and conduct security briefings, debriefings, and Security Awareness Training and Education (SATE) sessions. Ensure the security program is compliant with DoD security requirements and prepare for and participate in security compliance audits and vulnerability assessments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience with managing personnel and programs within dynamic collateral, SCI, or SAP security environments

  • Experience with Army Centralized Contracts and Security Portal (ACCS)

  • Experience with COMSEC, SCIF Management practices, and SCI Nomination processes

  • Knowledge of DoD security systems or databases, including DISS and NISS

  • Knowledge of DD254s, self-inspections, adverse reporting requirements, clearance processing, and SATE

  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with team members, government clients, and stakeholders across multiple teams

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with using Microsoft Office software applications

  • Knowledge of Title 32 of the Code of Federal Regulations (32 CFR), Part 117, the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) Rule, applicable Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and DoD security requirements

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail

  • Ability to move from one task to another and offer a variety of tasks as the need arises

  • Ability to provide constructive, tactful, and discrete security advice and guidance to personnel across all levels, including senior managers, peers, subordinates, and customers

  • DCSA and CDSE Certifications

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,600.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
